The pitch is currently undergoing extensive work and groundstaff are wanting to allow more time for it.

Today Bedlington Terriers emerged victorious from a trip to picturesque Esh Winning with a 4-2 win in the FA Vase.

TERRIERS CHAIRMAN RUES LIGHT PROBLEMS

Bedlington Terriers Chairman Dave Holmes expressed his frustration with the ageing Welfare Park floodlights, after they failed 81 minutes into the home game against Shildon last Wednesday night. Shildon were leading the game 2-1 when most of the lights failed, leaving insufficient light for the referee to complete the game.

New signing

The Terriers have signed Chris Dormand as cover for upcoming games. With a lengthening list of injuries and players unavailable to work commitment, the Cramlington born player has agreed to sign as backup. It remains to be seen if it will become more of a permanent arrangement.

LOWERY DISAPPOINTMENT AT UNDERPAR PERFORMANCE

Tony Lowery was disappointed at the manner of his team’s narrow defeat at table topping Consett at Belle Vue on Saturday. One goal in the first half was enough to secure the points for the home side, despite not playing the type of football that would be expected of one of the title favourites.
